Preparing Your Cat for a Blood Draw

Every cat will typically need a blood draw at some point in their lives. When your vet draws blood, they check for conditions like infectious diseases (e.g., Feline Leukemia Virus or FIV) as well as to evaluate your cat’s internal organ health during wellness visits, times of illness, or prior to an anesthetic procedure. These tests are essential to allowing your vet to learn about your cat’s physical health, and if budget allows, we encourage all cat parents to opt-in when bloodwork is recommended!
